Jerry. What would be really fascinating would be one of the boat people 60,000 years ago first landing on the northern shores of Australia from Timor. They would have been confronted with what we now call science fiction creatures and landscapes. The alien megafauna often three to four metres tall. The Kangaroos, emus, koalas, echidnas wombats. Vast grasslands and huge inland fresh water lakes. Crocs up to 8 metres long, snakes of similar size, huge goannas.

It would be like us travelling to a new planet with a complex bio/eco-system and then having to survive with nothing more than throwing sticks and rocks. Must have been an extraordinary experience and one I wouldn't have minded experiencing.
