The Week in Geek issue # 112
Greetings dear readers! There’s been tumbleweeds rolling down the corridors this week compared to last week, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have anything to talk about, no sir! For starters, the Shadow’s contemplating hacking his beard (Currently in ‘man who lives in the woods’ mode) back to a goatee! Scintillating stuff eh? Oh. You want actual news? Sorry. I’ll get on with that now… We know it was denied last week, but those rumours about the second Hobbit film are back on. Meanwhile, there’s...Man of Steel: Two Dads, Two Trailers
Two trailers for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel, have been released. Both feature the same images but have different voiceovers. One with the dulcet tones of Russell Crowe who plays Superman’s real dad, Jor El, and the other voiced by his adoptive Dad, Jonathan Kent, played by Kevin Costner. The trailers are sombre in tone and have a conflicted hero/origins vibe (hey Christopher Nolan helped develop the story and is a producer, so of course there's going to be a bit of...When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Use The Scamander
The Warthog might be Master Chief's vehicle of choice in the Halo games, but once he sees the amphibious Scamander, we suspect he'll be putting in an official requisition for a new ride. The off-road vehicle was originally envisioned by Peter Wheeler, owner of British sports car manufacturer TVR for 23 years, but he passed away before it came to fruition. So his wife and a team of engineers made sure the vehicle was eventually built, and Evo magazine had a chance to take it for a spin. Long...Damon Lindelof Talks Prometheus
Prometheus opens in Australia in just a few short weeks - June 8, to be exact. It's incredible to think that the journey that has been the anticipation to this movie is almost over. Entertainment Weekly got the scoop with some great pics from the set of Prometheus, which they combined with an interview with scriptwriter Damon Lindelof. He gives quite a bit of information about the philosophy of the film, and the motivations of the characters. If you've seen the trailers (you're welcome)...The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn Review
Starring: Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Draig, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg Director: Steven Spielberg Rated PG The interesting thing about Tintin is that almost everyone who ever read the Herge comic books as a child has their own take - their own voices in their head, or, if they watched the animated series, those particular voices in their head. When it comes to the big screen version, it's time to take your preconceived notions - and leave them at the door - this is not necessarily 'everyone's'...Meet the Superstars of Warehouse 13 & Eureka THIS WEEKEND!
