2013 New Year’s Entertainment Resolutions
It’s finally time to cast off the ugly shadow of 2012 once and for all. The Mayans got it wrong and we had to suffer through cruddy movies like ‘2012’ and all kinds of lousy apocalyptic spin-offs. Now, in 2013, it’s a great chance to resolve to return to the things we hold dear: Joss Whedon, classic sci-fi TV, throwing out that copy of ‘2012’ you bought for $4 on DVD—that kind of thing. Here are our 2013 New Year’s entertainment resolutions! Rewatch...Darla, Lois Lane and Sif are coming to Brisbane in November!
Tickets are now on sale for Supanova's stellar line-up for November’s event in Brisbane. With the expo’s schedule changing so that this is now its home on the calendar annually, this is the second Supanova in Brisbane in 2011 and it looks like it will be at least as big as April’s event which packed over 23,000 fans into the RNA showgrounds over that weekend. Andy Whitfield, the Welsh-born Aussie star of the supernatural thriller 'Gabriel' and the TV series, 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand', has died at the age of 39. Aussie audiences may know him from 'All Saints' and 'Packed to the Rafters', but for a legion of loyal fans (especially in the US) he'll always be remembered as the fallen Angel, Gabriel, no matter how popular he became as Spartacus. He died in Sydney after a long battle with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which looked to have been eradicated...Joss Whedon Explains Angel
Joss Whedon's most famous creation is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but there are legions of fans who enjoy Angel, the spin-off show that stars David Boreanaz. In this interview, Joss talks about the creation of his vampire detective. The focus of the noire aspect of the show, and how the hero of the show really wasn't an analogue for its creator, but in fact a version of the people who used to beat him up at school. Joss also talks about reinventing the show each season, tearing his hero...Angel's Andy Hallet Dies
Andy Hallett, the singer who gained fame as the green-skinned demon Lorne on Angel, has died of congestive heart disease aged 33. Hallett was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after having problems breathing and died there on Sunday. It follows a five-year battle with the heart condition. Hallett appeared on more than 70 episodes of Angel between 2000 and 2004. Born and raised in Osterville, Massachusetts, Hallett moved to LA when he was 23 and worked as a messenger...Crossing Over, The Sci Fi Way – Stars Who Roam The Galaxy
The classic ‘crossover’ is that of the genre actor to ‘mainstream’ entertainment. Harrison Ford: Scoundrel,...
