The Cloud Atlas Trailer Is Epic



We finally got a glimpse of the film adaptation of David Mitchell’s century-spanning, genre-bending novel Cloud Atlas. At nearly six minutes, the trailer is as epic as the novel and, oh, what a six minutes. Directed by the unlikely pairing of Tom Twyker and the Wachowski siblings (Andy and Lana), Cloud Atlas tells six interlocking stories that span from the 1800s to a distant post-apocalyptic future.








The all-star cast, who play multiple characters, includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent, Jim Sturgess and Ben Whishaw. Billed as the “the most ambitious film ever made”, The Matrix and Run Lola, Run directors also give us an introductory video, mimicking the interlocking style of the narrative, about how they came to collaborate on the film and the challenges they faced bringing the novel to the screen.

It’s short, funny and we love Lana’s pink dreadlocks.













It took David Mitchell 528 pages to tell his time-twisting tale so we won’t even attempt to recap it here so we’ll just let you watch the trailer.

Cloud Atlas will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Sepotember and will in cinemas worldwide in the final months of 2012.

If they remember their core fans and not cater to the US audience, then maybe the special will be okay. It goes up 100% just by having David in it. Maybe he can sort them out...

david has been doing a detective series here only 3 or 4 episodes most of his time seems to be spent advertising virgin tv and broad band with branson which is strange as I think branson just sold it to an American company
