Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The 15 Best Episodes Celebrating 15 Years Since Buffy First Aired
It’s hard to believe but it’s been just over 15 years since Buffy Summers moved to Sunnydale and became the latest in a long long line of Slayers, protecting our word from vampires, demons and various very bad dudes.
The show, born of a mediocre 1992 movie, made a star of Sarah Michelle Gellar, gave Joss Whedon a career to die for and us seven seasons of awesome entertainment.
In a salute to the Scooby Gang and the foes they vanquished, here’s our Top 15 Buffy Episodes, Ever! IN ORDER (dun dun dunh!)
Feel free to disagree. Violently. Or add your own.

12. Smashed
Season 6 Episode 9
The earth moves for Buffy and Spike as a building collapses around them. Sure, Angel is the love of Buffy’s life, but you can’t help but root for the platinum haired vampire with a chip on his shoulder and a chip in his head.
11. The Wish

Stung by seeing Xander and Willow kiss, Cordelia wishes that Buffy had never arrived in Sunnydale. This episode marks the first appearance of wacky former demon Anya, who grants Cordelia’s wish. Willow transforms into a psychotic vampire and mayhem ensures.
10. Band Candy
Season 3 Episode 6
It can’t be about the Big Bad all the time. Giles and Joyce behave like immature teenagers and make out under the influence of cursed candy. In fact, they do the big bad.

7. Once More With Feeling
Season 6 Episode 7
The Scooby Gang sing! Probably the most famous of all Buffy episodes.
6. Grave

5. Conversations With Dead People
Season 7 Episode 7
Buffy, Willow and Dawn are visited by dead people from their pasts. In another brilliant departure from the normal format, this episode takes place in real time and none of the main characters interact with each other.
4. Innocence
Season 2 Episode 14
Buffy and angel make love for the first time, giving Angel a moment of true happiness. Unfortunately this breaks the curse, restoring Angel to his former soul-free self – the very bad Angelus.
3. Becoming Part II
Season 2 Episode 22
Buffy battles Angelus to prevent him from opening the vortex to Hell as Willow awakes from a coma and struggles to restore Angel’s soul. Willow succeeds but it is too late for the star-crossed lovers. Buffy kills Angel sending him through the open vortex and into Hell.
2. The Body
Season 5 Episode 16
“Mom, mom, mommy?” Buffy finds her mom dead on the couch. That Joyce died in such a quotidian fashion was more shocking than they dozens of dramatic deaths that preceded it. It broke our hearts.
1. Hush
Season 4 Episode 10
The Gentlemen come to Sunnydale and steal the town’s voices as they hunt for seven hearts. For a show known for its witty banter, this episode distinguishes itself with barely a line of dialogue giving fans a serious case of the creeps and Joss Whedon and the show’s only Emmy nomination for writing.
I think Vulcan Eddie's confusing a couple of things into one, as well - Russell T Davies has stated that he considers the Time Lords started the Time War when they sent the Fourth Doctor, Sarah and Harry to Skaro to prevent the creation of the Daleks (only being partially successful, setting them back by a milleniun or so, and completely altering their future timeline - a discussion for another day, that one!) in "Genesis of the Daleks".
Later, in "Resurrection of the Daleks", the Daleks have captured the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough with the intent of duplicating them and sending the duplicates to Gallifrey to assassinate the Time Lord High Council - which could be seen as their response (the only Dalek story between "Genesis" and "Resurrection" was "Destiny of the Daleks", where the Daleks resurrected their long-dead creator Davros, but that was for a tactical advantage in a logic-deadlocked war with the Movellans).
I did confuse the daleks with the sonatrans, bad baaaad me !Luckily JC found the right story I was on about, good on ya JC ! I was about 7 yrs old when I had seen it fresh off the telly,so I can be forgiven (may be..) if my memory was a little fuzzy on the details.
Thanks Jerry and like you I dont indulge as often as I imply...once every 2 months on average as a treat. At my age and girth my early years of excess have caught up and now I'm struggling to rid myself of excess baggage. so I have to act with restraint. In fact I often buy a family size pizza about once every 2 months and then freeze the 8 slices independently to have as a treat now and then...its got that bad. I'm of course a Seafood and Mexicana addict.
The pizzeria in Missenden isnt one of the two to which I alluded. They were both close to Missenden but on the northern side of King Street. Both are long gone sadly. And yes there was something about the 70s style pizza wasnt there before pizzas became big business. I found the same with Lebanese tucker back then. There was a great Lebanese Restaurant up Norton Street in Leichhardt called Ali Baba's, that back in the late 70s served the best Lebanese tucker I've tasted and dirt cheap to boot. Now the market is saturated and the quality has gone down hiil...still a few good ones about though.
Hijazi's in Arncliffe is probably my go-to Lebanese place. I am also a great fan of the pide at the Sultan's Table in Enmore. Saray in Newtown used to have a great decrepit 1970s wood-panelled vibe but they renovated recently and the vibe is GONE.
I'm a falafel man myself. Not much into the Lebanese meats. But tabouli is my favourite salad just ahead of Greek Salad and I love hommus. Introduced my dear old now deceased mother to tabouli. She was raised as a meat and two veg dinner diet woman and was quite conservative. But she adored tabouli and ended up making her own. Also dont mind an occasional Kibe and Lady's finger for a treat.
Well, now they have embarked on their "5 year mission" so we should see more space. Provided they do another one. As long as they don't re-make the Voyage Home. That would be wrong. That's my favourite old ST movie.
Yes I'll agree with that NL. My four favourites in order are
ST4: The Voyage Home
ST2 Wrath of Khan
ST6 The Undiscovered Country
ST8: First Contact
Interesting isnt it that the second, third and fourth on my list all had great baddies. The first was great because of the old character out of his time scenario which can always be amusing (eg the movie Time After Time)
but just found this
Later, in "Resurrection of the Daleks", the Daleks have captured the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough with the intent of duplicating them and sending the duplicates to Gallifrey to assassinate the Time Lord High Council - which could be seen as their response (the only Dalek story between "Genesis" and "Resurrection" was "Destiny of the Daleks", where the Daleks resurrected their long-dead creator Davros, but that was for a tactical advantage in a logic-deadlocked war with the Movellans).
