Just like New Year's Eve, it’s SO hard not to get caught up in the anticipation of huge-scale Hollywood Sci Fi blockbusters – even though you know, just like New Year's Eve, it’ll probably just be a let down.

“But,” you fairly stammer to yourself, “maybe it won’t be a let down!”

Maybe it’ll be the one of the best events of your life and live up to all the hype!

Okay, so Battleship probably won’t be one of the best events of your life, but judging by the Superbowl TV Spot it could have some pretty cool stuff in store.

The TV Spot gives us some more peeks at the aliens, and sets their threat-level to “We’re looking at an extinction-level event”, so at least we know what the stakes are now – high.

Check it out and tell us your little geek heart just don’t go a little bit pitter-pat.






In case you’re unaware of the film, it’s the next attempt at a franchise based on the classic game from toy company Hasbro – yes, the same people who brought us the Transformers movies. But try not to hold that against them.

Will the film be 'Transformers 4: Battleship'? Probably not. Word is it's the scrappy humans versus evil aliens that gives this film some heart, in amongst the glorious carnage and battleship porn, so fingers crossed.
