Scream Awards 2011: Celebrate Halloween On SCI FI!

The SCI FI Channel Australia will screen the Scream Awards for 2011 on 7:30pm October 31st - that's right, Halloween!

The perfect way to celebrate a night of nasties, ghouls and ghosts, the 2011 Scream Awards celebrates the very best in the horror, Sci Fi and fantasy genres in film, television and comics in the year that was.

The big names heading for the big prizes for 2011 are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and X-Men: First Class each scored 14 nominations in a massive domination of voting.



The Harry Potter franchise finishes 2011 with a flourish with 14 nominations at the 2011 Scream Awards.


Not far behind, Captain America: The First Avenger with 11 nominations, Thor, with nine, the epic fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones, with seven, and the pinnacle of televised zombie entertainment, The Walking Dead, with six.

There are a host of tremendous 'special' awards, perfect for genre fans who expect something a little bit different from their award shows. Special Awards include the Comic-Con Icon Award, a Farewell Tribute, the Maverick Award, the Ultimate Villain Award and the Visionary Award. There's even an award for Most Anticipated Movie!

Special guests include Matt Smith from Doctor Who, Colin Farrell, Gary Oldman, Ann Hathaway, Robert Downey Jr, Pee-wee Herman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Joe Mangionello ('Alcide' from True Blood) Daniel Radcliffe and the cast of Game of Thrones.



X-Men: First Class. 2011 was first class for them.


The Scream Awards are famous for having cool awards like 'Holy Sh!t Scene of the Year', 'Most Memorable Mutilation', 'Best Comic Book Movie' and "Fight Scene of the Year'.

If they remember their core fans and not cater to the US audience, then maybe the special will be okay. It goes up 100% just by having David in it. Maybe he can sort them out...
