Warehouse 13 Getting HG Wells Steampunk Spinoff!

Warehouse 13 fans, rejoice! HG Wells is getting her own show!

Helena Wells, the real inventor and novelist of the gadgets described by her pseudonym, HG Wells, will be travelling back in time to the 1890's, where Warehouse 12 will try to recruit her.

Not surprisingly, she'll remain a free agent. She'll use contemporary science, and awesome steampunk gadgets, to solve the problems of the day. More than likely she'll be using her brother as a front for her literary activities. We speculate that there might even be a Sherlock Holmes element to the storytelling, where the adventures that they have are mirrored in the stories that 'HG' tells. We'll all soon find out, but the series is still only at the green light stage, so there could be lots of changes before we see the results.

As one of the more popular characters on Warehouse 13, the most popular show in Syfy's history (with an average of 3.4 million viewers an ep), it's no surprise that she's gotten her own show.

Jaime Murray, the actress who plays HG Wells, has been seen in Dexter as his rather troubled girlfriend (aka 'pardon my tits') but has created a real fan following as the feisty, unbalanced, but exceptionally clever villain of Warehouse 13's second season.

Warehouse 13 is coming back to Syfy for its Third Season (and SCI FI Australia not too long after, we hope) on July 11.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you get your own show.

I think Vulcan Eddie's confusing a couple of things into one, as well - Russell T Davies has stated that he considers the Time Lords started the Time War when they sent the Fourth Doctor, Sarah and Harry to Skaro to prevent the creation of the Daleks (only being partially successful, setting them back by a milleniun or so, and completely altering their future timeline - a discussion for another day, that one!) in "Genesis of the Daleks".

Later, in "Resurrection of the Daleks", the Daleks have captured the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough with the intent of duplicating them and sending the duplicates to Gallifrey to assassinate the Time Lord High Council - which could be seen as their response (the only Dalek story between "Genesis" and "Resurrection" was "Destiny of the Daleks", where the Daleks resurrected their long-dead creator Davros, but that was for a tactical advantage in a logic-deadlocked war with the Movellans).
