Welcome dear readers! Seeing as how most stores this week are stuffed full of Halloween merchandise, I suppose we best acknowledge it, instead of simply grumbling about seeing Christmas stuff in stores for the past fortnight. So, as a treat for you all, we present John DeLancie reading ‘The Raven’. Best watched in the dark, trust me. Anyhow, there’s been some big news this week, so let’s get straight into it! The third Batman film has a title: The Dark Knight Rises. Christopher Nolan has...TRON Night Review. 23 Minutes of TRON: Legacy Analysed in Detail
For those of you who didn’t get to see the 23 minutes of TRON: Legacy last night, here’s the rundown. What we saw was an Imax 3-D presentation of the film, with a brief (but cool) text introduction from director Joe Kosinski, and then 23 minutes of of scenes from the first half of the film, with an unfinished sound track, that gave you a decent understanding of the beginning of the film. First sequence has the hero of the story, Sam Flynn, living in a waterside conversion - two converted shipping...The Electric Playground Coming To SCI FI Dec 1!
Time to get excited! One of the most respected entertainment shows on the planet is coming Down Under. Victor Lucas and the crew from The Electric Playground will be beaming every day on SCI FI and online, for Australian viewers. We've had a chat with Victor, who is creator, producer and presenter of the show, and he's even more excited than us. If you don't know The Electric Playground, it's a daily half hour show about what's cool to people like you and me. With a strong focus on games...Caption Competition: Star Wars Droid on Star Trek: TNG
Now here's something you don't see every day. Apart from the odd Family Guy parody, the worlds of Star Trek and Star Wars are mutually exclusive. We spotted this over at Reddit, and it's a doozy. A piece of alien sculpture in the background that looks exactly like a Droid Trooper from the Star Wars prequel films. We also noticed that this pic has the potential for some awesome captions. Since it's Thursday, and we all need to celebrate the tremendosity of Sci Fi with a display of rapier wit,...Avatar Sequels Confirmed for 2014, 2015
The Hollywood Reporter has got the scoop from The King of The World of Pandora: James Cameron has confirmed that not one but two Avatar sequels are set for release in late 2014 and 2015. After a supertanker of cash was tied up to his personal fortress island, Cameron has finally relented to repeated begging from Fox. Apparently it was the third human sacrifice involving two high profile film executives and an as-yet unnamed corporate tax lawyer being thrown into a live volcano a few weeks ago...Bigfoot's Trail of Blood - Chris Heyerdahl talks Sanctuary S3
Even though he's played some of your favourite characters on some of your favourite SCI FI shows, Christopher Heyerdahl may need some introduction. A jack of all trades in the Stargate Universe, he played Todd the Wraith to enormous acclaim, as well as a host of other characters. However, it was when he was cast in Sanctuary that the world really stood up and took notice of a character that some people still don't know is him. They might recognise the menacing John Druitt, but there's no way...SCREAM Awards Competition Winner Takes On Hollywood!
This Saturday night, tune in to the pop culture event of the year, the Scream Awards, on SCI FI! Make a date for 7:30pm on Saturday to see a night of Sci Fi stars celebrate the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and this spectacular year in movies, TV and more! Winner of our Scream Awards competition, Chris Garrett was there, along with his brother, Tim, rubbing shoulders with Hollywood celebrities, seeing some of the most famous sites in the world, driving around in limousines and getting the...What’s On This Week Oct 25 - 31

Hello dear readers! First off, a slight mea culpa – occasionally we’ll discover things after we hit send or that just slip through the cracks. I do what I can dear readers, but I’m just one man. Sadly, last week was one of those weeks: we can now reveal there’s plans for a new Incredible Hulk TV series. It’s still early stages so we’ve no idea who’ll be playing Bruce Banner, but given the turnover of actors I expect someone new. In news that won’t make the New Zealand tourist board happy,...
