Do we exist in the new World of SF?

Kinda wondering, with only a week or two before the big change over, whether we will exist in that new universe of SF, or are we heading for extinction, a fleeting memory on a long lost memory chip, a byte that no longer has any bite, a virtual identity heading for virtual demise.

Shall we continue to exist. I dare no ask Mon Capitan for his/her/their/its avatar is already fading into the world of idle electronic chatter.....a mere twitter.

We think, therefore we still are. We blog, therefore we still believe. Our avatars may disappear, our previous words may disappear too, but once our thoughts are put out there they will be read and regurgitated in another form in the future. We will live on, we will evolve. The end is just a new beginning. It has happened before, it will happen again. They said it in Lexx, they said it in Battlestar, I'm sure they said it in X-Files and Dr Who and Star Trek too. The future is the past is the future again.
Eiger Vinne will not give in, Eiger Vinne will return for a sharp victory. Have no fear Bearfax, we will all be here.

Ah, existentialism! A system of thought and moral self-discipline that emphasises the uniqueness and isolation of the individual forum poster in a hostile or indifferent Web of semi-articulate Tweets™. A philosophy that stresses freedom of choice and responsibility for the consequences of one's own actions … You don't find that kind of thinking 'round these yar parts no more. "Responsibility for the consequestions of one's own actions"? Not bloody likely, mate!

No idea because they are not very communicative. they should take the history over and users. Although half the users are Spammers lol.
Daniel offered to fix it all up.

Took me a long time to ascend, spose I'll come back naked now

Ah but VT you have only ascended in these somewhat anaemic (because of lack of new blood) forums. I hate to have to tell you but there are people out there who have never heard of our little cosmos...one of billions of alternative forum universes vying for a right to exist. I'm still considering if I will transcend into the next Universe as a bear or a scarab, as I previously mentioned. If I chose the latter then I could accommodate any sheet being thrown at me with gusto.

I've already posted this in another forum thread.

Yes!

I have had it confirmed first-hand that the Forum and even Sci Fi Pi will be migrated intact to the new home of www.SFTV.com.au.

Rest assured, that everyone will still exist.

I will exist - elsewhere, still pursuing Sci Fi-related things at The Sci Fi Show. It is, in no way associated with SF, The Sci Fi Channel Australia, or Sci Fi Pi, so I'm only going to mention it once right here, just as a courtesy to those who have enjoyed my work for the last five years and are wondering where I'm off to. Thank you all for all your kind words and fascinating back-and-forth over the years.

Be at peace, meine Kapitäne. The Internet does not breed strong readers.

I was aware that Mon Capitan had discussed this matter earlier but that was a few weeks ago and I was feeling insecure, looking yearningly for my blankie, and just wanted a little bit of verbal comfort and assurance from our overseer. Bears have their monsters under the bed too you know. Mind you they are a particularly circumspect bunch..I think they're scared of coming out from under the bed anyway.

Anyway Mon Capitan, Thank you for your reassurance. I'll ask you again in another week....just in case things are different. By the way, will we have to reregister or does that transfer over also...did you tell us this before. Damn where's those reading glasses of mine

I really think the forum will be looked after, especially with the recent uptake in activity. I hope you all enjoy the new website.
