Interesting. I remember going to a short "4D" presentation at Sydney Tower. It seemed to involve spraying aerosolised water into our faces; and I couldn't help but wonder about how often they disinfected the water tanks. (Can you say "Legionella"?)

Still, the use of mechanical effects in conjunction with movies goes way back. William Castle attempted something of the sort in his 1959 horror-thriller, THE TINGLER. The film tells of a scientist who discovers a parasite in human beings, which feeds on fear. The creature was dubbed a "Tingler" because it made the spine of its host "tingle" whenever the host was frightened.

Castle used gimmicks to sell his films. One of the gimmicks he used for THE TINGLER was called "Percepto!", and it involved vibrating devices in some of the seats in the cinema. The devices were made to vibrate in time with the on-screen action.

Not so new, Seaworld and movie world has been doing these for over 10 years.

I recall going to these before all the seats would move, air would blow on you at the right times, and yes water spray as well.

Not new and not sci fi either movie.

Bugger all on this morning so flicking around a movie just started 'Tempe Tip' Showtime comedy.

Now there are not many Aussie movies I like, some not many..So did not hold hopes for one I'd never even heard of even though its 10 years old.

I liked this one even though it doesn't seem to have any good reviews. I like how the people of all different races came together in the street as friends.

Noticed the Ufologists are hard at work down Batemans Bay way trying to explain a recent sighting. Local UFO expert seems convinced its a UFO and I believe him....an unidentifed flying object...obviously an object and seems it was flying and until its identified its 'unidentified'...seems an obvious statement really...wonder if it looked like an old English police box.

I wholeheartedly agree with your definition of "unidentified flying object". The sad thing is that too many people believe it's really a synonym for "alien spacecraft" (which is isn't).

Channel 10's 'The Shire' I knew it would be bad, but that was really bad...Why would I even watch, well its my area....

Well that's the solution to the boat people, put that show on over there, the ones already here are leaving after that.

Wow literally thousand and thousands of posts on the internet bagging out channel 10 and this show. How could anyone ever think this show could do well, send them to jail for that crime.

I'm going to delete channel 10 off the TV now. They have some crap but this was the last straw. plus big brother is back soon.

This show makes Lara Bingles show look very good. that moves to the 2nd worst show ever.

Those exec's at 10 what twits, payed a big bucks to approve crap like this.I knew they had gone stupid as for F1 and motogp doing 300 KPH you need HD, no these twits take it off One (but leave the support races on One) and put the main race on 10 SD..
