It's an old old battle. But fun!

Star Wars fans are right - Trek does suck. Trekkies are right - there is no Jar Jar in 40 years of the Federation, and therefore Star Trek wins.

Both are great, although Star Trek leads the pack, it was original, ahead of its time, creating the framework for future series and movies, with realistic scripts delivering well thought messages on each one of its episodes; you can watch them over and over without getting bored.

AND Jar Jar would probably fit in well in almost any episode of the original Star Trek series :)

Jar Jar would have two heads in Star Trek - one that spoke like an ol' South slave, and one who spoke like his master!

Although... without Star Wars, there would be no Star Trek movies - and quite possibly then, no Star Trek TNG and then all the rest!

Hmm - or would Trek always have been reborn?

It's interesting considering that JJ Abrams' rollercoaster ride is a fusion of the two styles of Sci Fi.

What about the 'baddy test' - being 'scariest baddy, best entertainment' - are the Borg scarier than Darth Vader? Or vice versa.

Star Trek is better (TOS) anyway.

Thanks to Mr Rudd, Ive just bought all 3 seasons of TOS digitally remastered boxsets.

Think I will be watching alot of Trek over the next few weeks.

Star wars is purley an adventure story

What better way to get 'stimulated' than with Star Trek?

I find that both are quite good .

Star Wars is a very good universe to get drawn into , but , Mr Lucas is getting to greedy for his own good . The prequels I thought sucked (the whinging little brat in the first one , Hayden Christiensen the actor made out of cardboard and yes JAR JAR should have been killed when he opened his mouth ) The CGI Movie and series aren't bad . But the best are the Original 3 movies (untouched by remastering)


Star Trek , Gene Roddenbery had a great vision and I think Star Trek would have gone a different way if was still alive . He had a certain belief in what Star Trek was all about . And when he died , I think the writters and TV Networks got lost and just saw a more warped view of Gene's creation . Gene was trying to see the best in the Human race . But alas in real life it is not like that , we will never get the Star Trek way of life (which is a shame) . It is just human nature to destroy each other (either with war or by money )

I was wondering if this would ever come up, so here's a great site, that is pro-trek btw, on this subject, extremely extensive and anti-wars it is, whcih is rare because the warsies pretty much dominate this realm of the internets.

Star Wars isn't really science fiction though is it? It is more fantasy based in space... You can't compare the two.
