I intend to take a little trip to Engadine pretty soon I think. Bit of a journey from Berala, where I am domiciled but then I'm retired and I love driving...and I love pizza. Might pop down to Stanmore a bit later and sample Adam's tucker as well. My freezer will have lots of pleasant little surprises soon. Thanks guys.
I'm a falafel man myself. Not much into the Lebanese meats. But tabouli is my favourite salad just ahead of Greek Salad and I love hommus. Introduced my dear old now deceased mother to tabouli. She was raised as a meat and two veg dinner diet woman and was quite conservative. But she adored tabouli and ended up making her own. Also dont mind an occasional Kibe and Lady's finger for a treat.
Thanks Jerry and like you I dont indulge as often as I imply...once every 2 months on average as a treat. At my age and girth my early years of excess have caught up and now I'm struggling to rid myself of excess baggage. so I have to act with restraint. In fact I often buy a family size pizza about once every 2 months and then freeze the 8 slices independently to have as a treat now and then...its got that bad. I'm of course a Seafood and Mexicana addict.
The pizzeria in Missenden isnt one of the two to which I alluded. They were both close to Missenden but on the northern side of King Street. Both are long gone sadly. And yes there was something about the 70s style pizza wasnt there before pizzas became big business. I found the same with Lebanese tucker back then. There was a great Lebanese Restaurant up Norton Street in Leichhardt called Ali Baba's, that back in the late 70s served the best Lebanese tucker I've tasted and dirt cheap to boot. Now the market is saturated and the quality has gone down hiil...still a few good ones about though.
Could be pricey VT...especially with the warp drive engines and force field deflectors. And is that titanium body work I see? More than a few bars of Latinum I'd say. Quark may be able to get you a decent deal though...for 30% finders fee commission of course.
Its coming. Sometime in November and lasting until about February 2014, the potentially brightest comet in generations will be seen in the sky. Regrettably we may not get to see this marvel because it will be mostly visible in the northern hemisphere. But if you happen to be in Europe or North America later this year and early next year, you will possibly be viewing something that happens only once or twice a century. A truly bright comet that may be even visible for a short while during the day.
As an aside if you guys know of any really top of the line pizzerias please let me know. I've noted yours Jerry and will give it a look see. I consider myself a connoisseur of these delicacies, which means I'm a gluttonous ravager of those crusted culinary delights...any excuse. Those things Eagle Bros, Pizza Hut, Dominoes etc put out arent pizzas...plastic imitations at best and they are ruining the tradition and quality elsewhere. Best pizzas I remember were two pizzeria's on King Street, Newtown near Missenden Road over twenty five years ago. They competed and the quality has been unsurpassed in my mind since.
ps More info on your site at North Engadine VT please.
Yes G6 Equus ferus caballus and his cousins have a lot to answer for especially in impoverishing many an unwise risk taker at the track and causing many a broken bone while encouraging it to do our will. Such horseplay has also bred a species of predatory types called bookies who further prey on the unsuspecting and weak of will. T'is a sordid tale of want and violence that usually ends in the glue factory and on the dole line.
