Hi all,

Firstly we’d like to apologise that it’s taken a while for us to get back to you with some of the concerns raised in the forum and the lack of presence from an administrator. We have been investigating the issues to get a better understanding of what has been happening in the forum.

We’d like to tell you that we are definitely engaged with the issues raised. We have a small team here and due to that have had a lack of presence and moderation in the forum. We now have more resources and will make more of an effort to intervene when needed and we will be listening to see when issues are raised.

As regards post deletion. We have set up and are testing a moderation system that hides posts which contain offensive language and swear words. These posts are not deleted but hidden from view. Internally, we are currently reviewing language that is acceptable in posts and will customise our system accordingly. Please bear with us while we go through this transition.

Posts that have been previously removed will be shown, providing they do not contain seriously offensive language. We value free speech and would like you to feel you can voice your opinions freely. We really value the forum and the long-term visitors who have contributed greatly to the forum over the years.

We really appreciate your contributions and feedback, both positive and critical. At SF we feel we are lucky to have such a passionately engaged and collaborative community. We understand that some users have ‘gone into exile’ however we would like to re-assure you that greater steps will be taken to listen to your concerns moderate the forum.

On a more personal note, even though it's been a long time coming, hopefully things will be a lot more fun around here now.

Sorry it took so long-- but sometimes things take a bit of planning in order to keep everyone happy. See you in the threads!

Can you clean up the Threads of all comments that talk about the recent issues here, only if the DW threads and person is to remain removed.. Well I can't speak for everyone but remove any of mine that refer to it.

Or any that refer to the moderators here of mine, please remove those comments.

Filter was strange if that was it, as some things were reposted with the same content but didn't disappear the next time.

Make sure Frack is OK being a BSG word lol.........

Thanks for the explanation, shame it wasn't sooner. some may not return. I'll hang on both places and see how this one goes for a while.

PS can you change my username from VT2VX to vx2ve? The other is a little old, reference is around cars.

I concur with what Dave2201 and VT2VX have said in regards to my own posts.
